Attention community members:

We would like to thank our food service staff and the transportation department for making our Grab and Go Food distribution process a success. Our breakfast and lunch program is something that we will be reimbursed for by FEMA, because it is a mandated service. We distribute about 700 breakfast/lunch packs per day, Monday through Friday.

Our dinner distribution program is offered on Tuesday and Thursday, and 800 to 1,280 meals are distributed.  The dinner program is not mandated; it is something that we have chosen to provide because it is much needed by many of our Whitman families. Because the program is not mandated, we will not receive reimbursement.  Right now, we have been able to use government food to keep our costs down, and we have been fortunate to receive donations of containers.

People have asked how they can help, and right now, the best way for people to help is to give donations to help us offset food and container cost as we remain out of school.  Each dinner service (every Tuesday and Thursday) costs between $2000 and $2500.  We will continue this dinner service and figure out how to pay for it no matter what, but your help will go a long way.  If you would like to donate, you can pay by check or cash right at the District Office between 8AM-2PM, or you can use this link to pay online here. There is a $2.95 transaction fee.  100% of the money we receive will go to food and container cost.  Thank you for considering and for having #PR1DEinthePaw!
