On May 9, 2019 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the High School Library the Board of Education will be hosting a Meet and Greet with Dr. Brown. Please join us as we welcome him into our school community!
The Marcus Whitman Board of Education has selected Dr. Christopher Brown as their next Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Brown was appointed at the April 8, 2019 Board of Education meeting pending contract negotiations.
“We are very excited to welcome Dr. Chris Brown to the Marcus Whitman School District,” says Board of Education President Sheila Brown. “The experience and skills Dr. Brown brings to the district will support and continue to grow our tradition of fostering innovation and supporting diverse life-long learners who positively impact the world community.
“During this extensive interview process, the Board worked with many different stakeholder groups and every step of the way, it was important that we seamlessly continue the incredible tenure of our current Superintendent Jeramy Clingerman. We looked for an individual who, combined the necessary vision of education in today’s world and the unique needs of our very own Marcus Whitman school district. Together, we believe Dr. Brown not only satisfies that vision but has the experience to lead us into the future,” adds Mrs. Brown.
Dr. Brown joins the Marcus Whitman district with over 25 years of educational experience, 20 of which focused on district leadership. Through his experience, Dr. Brown has developed and mastered many skills including School and District leadership, school finance, management services, curriculum development and overall school organization. Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has held the following positions: Director of Instructional Technology, School Business Administrator, Assistant Superintendent for General Administration and Superintendent of Schools for the Hammondsport Central School District and the Superintendent of Schools for West Genesee Central School District.
"I am very proud to be joining a school community that is dedicated to excellence and places great value in the education and success of all students" stated Dr. Brown.
Dr. Brown will begin at Marcus Whitman Central School District on July 1, 2019.
